About Us

The name Anathoth comes from a story found in the old testament of the Hebrew Scriptures. It was an agricultural land about 3 miles north of Jerusalem. The inspiration for naming our company after the land in this story is derived from an object lesson illustrated in an act by Jeremiah the prophet. Jeremiah had warned Israel that if they continued violating God’s law, they would be conquered by the Babylonians and taken away into captivity. But he assured Israel of God’s promise to one day bring His people back to their land. In a show of faith, Jeremiah buys this fertile land, seals the contract before the people, considering it in earnest an eye toward the land of promise.

Believers today also look for a better land. The land of promise for the followers of Jesus is described in the book of Revelation. It is a glorious city, adorned with precious stones, all amazing conductors of light:  jasper, emeralds, and gold so pure that it is transparent.  For Jeremiah, Anathoth pointed not only to a better land, but also a better life and better experience.
